Now that I have seen its interior, I’m even more convinced that Durham needs to preserve and restore Milton Small’s Home Security Life building, which most of Durham knows as the old police HQ. It has great bones, and if the 70s/80s interior offices retrofit were ripped out, it would be as much a cutting-edge architectural jewel as it was when it was designed in the 50s.
