I am being gaslit by Fiskars and I don’t like it! At the bottom, a pair of the classic orange handled 8” Fiskars. At the top, a pair I just bought that was marketed as the original orange handled scissors.

So: there is a new evangelical church (/coffeeshop/coworking space/craft market) opening in our neighborhood. They are on Instagram as @pioneersdurham and @pioneerschurch . They take money from an evangelical org called the ARC. Here is a screenshot of the Pioneers website that talks about receiving matching funds from them. Next to that is a screenshot from the ARC’s own website, from their “Statement of Faith” page. It is readily Googleable. When asked point blank whether they affirm the rights of LGBTQIA+ ppl to exist, and love, and marry, the Pioneers people first hemmed and hawed, and then deleted all comments from their Instagram. It seems pretty clear to me: Either @pioneersdurham believes what the ARC Statement of Faith says — a gender-essentialist, homophobic belief — or they care more about the ARC’s money than they do about their own principles. Neither is what Durham needs. #durham

Bought this car 13 years ago when we moved to Durham. Love that annual mileage average — it has been dropping since I handed it off to @joolep a few years ago, and then obviously plummeted more recently . . .
